To solve the nonlinear algebraic equation ( f(t) = 7\exp(-0.1111t) - 8\exp(-0.09722) ), note that the function ( f(t) ) hinges on how exponential terms are solved relative to one another. To investigate why you're obtaining a negative value for ( t ), ensure that you have correctly input the equation in Polymath and check for any typographical errors in the equation or parameters used. If the issue persists, it might be helpful to explore the solution analytically or use graphing to understand its behavior across different ( t ) values and determine whether any errors exist in interpretation or input formulas. If the setup was correct and logical, consider consulting specific Polymath documentation or forums, as unexpected results could also stem from computational nuances within the software or specific method settings affecting how roots are found.

I am solving an exercise using polymath educational 6.1 and as I click on solve error "Internal error trapped (8888)" keeps appearing stating ln() of negative number not allowed but the values I wrote aren't negative.

The issue you are encountering with the Polymath Educational 6.1 software and the "Internal error trapped (8888)" is likely due to a mathematical operation that results in taking the natural logarithm (ln) of a non-positive number. Even if your inputs are not negative, intermediate calculations within your equations or expressions may lead to such values. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Check Inputs: Ensure that all input values used in the ln() function are strictly positive, as Polymath does not support the computation of the natural logarithm of zero or negative numbers.

  2. Review Equations: Carefully examine your equations, especially those involving divisions, subtractions, or any operations that could yield zero or negative results in the variable being passed to the ln() function.

  3. Simplify Expressions: Simplify expressions to avoid complex combinations that risk resulting in negative values during computations.

  4. Debugging: Insert print or debugging statements (where possible) to track the values being passed to ln() and identify where they might turn negative.

  5. Update or Patch: Check for any available software updates or patches for Polymath that might address this internal error, as newer versions could have bug fixes.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider reaching out to the Polymath support team for dedicated assistance.

You can try checking the settings or preferences in the Polymath Educational program to see if there is an option to change the notation format from engineering to decimal. Alternatively, you can try contacting the developer or support team of the program for assistance.

i purchased 'Polymath Educational 6.1 for Unlimited Use' today. but i didn't receive key code yet. I only received just Order Completed Mail from 'MyCommerce Share-it'.
Just in case, I entered the Order number of the order completion mail, but it was of no use.
I have to finish my assignment to use this program within this week, so I am waiting for your answer as soon as possible. thanks for check it.
